Message from SP (D) Nicobar

From the Desk of Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District

SPCN
Nicobar is India’s southernmost district and has a total of 22 big and small islands. It is strategically located in the Indian Ocean and forms an outstretched flank of India in the Bay of Bengal. The predominant island and tribal character of the district poses distinctive challenges for policing. For the purpose of administrative convenience five P.S’s, 4 Out Posts and 1 Look Out Post have been created. Despite facing numerous challenges in the form of harsh weather, scarcity of resources, lack of connectivity etc., Police personnel have been doing a commendable job of keeping this Island district safe and secure. Police officers are regularly trained in modern scientific methods of investigation and law & order so as to keep up with modern developments in these fields. The herculean task of effective coastal patrolling is accomplished in close coordination with Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard which have their bases in the district. District Police works in close coordination with other government agencies present in the district and with the cooperation of district administration efforts of Police get synergized. It has always been an endeavor of Nicobar Police to form a healthy partnership with the local communities and the people of Nicobar have not just appreciated the efforts of Police in this regard but have also responded with enthusiasm.
Police has a challenging but divine task at its hand and it must fulfill it with dedication, responsibility and integrity. I congratulate all the unnamed police officers by whose untiring efforts, the remotest district of India has a safe environment for its people to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. I also assure the people of Nicobar that as an organization Andaman Nicobar Police is committed to justice and service and we, as a collectivity, would not leave any stone unturned towards attainment of the lofty ideals of the organization.
